Hervé
Rodriguez is the co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Excel Translations. Prior to founding Excel Translations, Hervé
was Chief Linguist at Harvard Translations where he managed and
supervised the company's translation department and was responsible
for Quality Control and Quality Assurance, as well as for the
standardization of translation processes.
Prior to joining Harvard Translations, Hervé worked as a Localization
Research Consultant in Paris, France, where he helped companies
localize multi-language projects, focusing on internationalization,
human resources, and quality control.
Hervé is a native of France. He holds a Master's Degree in Translation from the University of Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France. After that, Hervé studied Conference Interpreting at the Graduate School for Translators and Interpreters (ESIT) in Paris. He is currently a Professor at the Graduate School for Translation and Interpretation (GSTI) of the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) where he teaches Conference Interpretation and Translation. In addition to English and French, Hervé is perfectly fluent in Spanish and has a sound command of Portuguese. He is a U.S. State Department Accredited Conference Interpreter and a French Ministry of Defense Accredited Translator and Interpreter.
Ramna Brandt
is the co-founder of Excel Translations. Today, Ramna is responsible
for the company's Human Resources and Accounting departments.
Prior to joining Excel Translations, Ramna worked as a Research
Assistant at Northeastern University, Boston, MA where she compiled
research and assisted professors with preparation for publication
and conducted review/study sessions with students. Prior to holding
this position, Ramna worked as a Graphic Design Editor for The
Dickerson Group, in Boston, MA.
Ramna holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, from Northeastern
University, Boston, MA and a Bachelor of Arts, International Affairs,
from the American University of Paris, Paris, France. Ramna is
bilingual in French and English.
Rob de Cortie
joined the company as Vice President of Production and leads the
development of a wide variety of production-related divisions,
including Resources Management, Strategic Alliances, e-Publishing
and Project Management. Rob, a native of The Netherlands, brings
over seven years of experience in the localization industry to
Excel Translations.
Prior to joining Excel Translations, Rob was Senior Project Manager
at RWS-Polyglot International where he was responsible for the
management of numerous localization project teams and for the
improvement of processes applied to software localization and
documentation projects.
Prior to his work at RWS, Rob held top localization management
positions for companies such as Language Management International
(formerly The Corporate Word) and Rockwell Automation. Rob holds
a Master's Degree in Communications and a BA in Liberal Arts from
the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands. He is fluent in Dutch,
English and German and has a sound command of French.
Gladys Varon joined the company as Project Manager in 2000. She was promoted to Senior Project Manager shortly thereafter and to Production Manager of the Company's San Francisco office in 2002. Gladys, a native of Colombia, brings to Excel Translations over five years of experience in the localization industry and over 10 years of experience in the printing industry.
Prior to joining Excel Translations, Gladys worked for another localization company in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was responsible for the management of numerous localization project teams and for the improvement of translation and localization processes. Prior to that, she worked as a Graphic Designer at various Bay Area companies.
Gladys is fluent in Spanish and English and holds a degree in Sociology with a minor in business.
